Stationed in Japan, this sailor wishes Baton Rouge family a happy holiday
Petty Officer 2nd Class Jordan Frances, a Baton Rouge native serving in the United States Navy, will celebrate the holidays in Japan with shipmates aboard USS Ronald Reagan.
Sailors help maintain America’s advantage at sea. This means they do not always get to celebrate holidays with their loved ones. A Baton Rouge native serving in the United States Navy will celebrate the holidays in Japan with shipmates aboard USS Ronald Reagan.
“The holidays are a time to get together with family,” said Petty Officer 2nd Class Jordan Frances. “I know someone in my family is always cooking, so I get to enjoy some great food and drinks whenever I’m home. I miss going to my grandma’s house for Christmas. She passed away a few years ago, so those are memories I will cherish forever.”
Frances said he wants his family back home to know they are missed this holiday season. “To all my friends and family, I love you and miss you. I can’t wait to see you,” he said.
As a member of the U.S. Navy, Frances, as well as other sailors, know they are a part of a tradition providing unforgettable experiences through leadership development, world affairs, and humanitarian assistance.
“Serving in the Navy has been fulfilling,” said Frances. “It has been an opportunity to travel the world and experience different cultures, all while learning new skills.”
