'The Royal Experience’ honors excellent service of women and young scholars

Four Baton Rouge women and seven university scholars will be honored by the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. of Metropolitan Baton Rouge during The Royal Experience: Fete de l’excellence, Sunday, May 19.
The fundraiser celebrates excellence, and it promises to be an unforgettable experience that will leave a lasting impression on everyone, said Chenese Lewis
director of public relations.
Through this annual fundraiser, The Coalition celebrates its community impact and recognizes the achievements of Black women and girls who have contributed to their communities in various ways.
Southern University and A & M College’s Desiree Honoree Thomas, Ashley Shelton with The Power Coalition, Emily George Tilley of the O’Brien House, and Gaylynne M. Mack with the Big Buddy Program will be honored for their exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the Metro Baton Rouge community.
A scholarship presentation will honor these eight students who have demonstrated academic achievement and community involvement:

Gisele Proby-Bryant of Bossier City will inspire guests as this year’s keynote speaker.
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Metropolitan Baton Rouge Chapter is a diverse group of change agents united through a shared vision to advocate for Black women and girls unapologetically. They aim to set a standard of excellence, create a legacy of forward-thinking leaders, and serve their community through leadership, commitment, and service, said Lewis.
The Royal Experience will be held at the L’Auberge Casino and Hotel in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Also, business owners will display their products and services during the vendor showcase.
